A must go resort!!!
It was a very peaceful and relaxing experience. Overlooking the river whilst having a massage, I would definitly recommend trying out the spa there. Do not forget to try out the cooking lessons that they offer, I had an amazing opportunity and experience learning three traditional Balinese cooking. The staff were really super friendly and helpful. Overall, I would come back to Svarga Loka anytime

Hidden treasure
No doubt access and finding this resort will be a challenge. But once you arrive, you will see that you have reached a completely different world. From the time we arrived till we checked out, we can’t help but marvel at the fine setting and peaceful environment. There is no TV in the room and even the door “lock” is the old fashion traditional wooden latch. The bed is big, no. it’s huge. Breakfast is set above a river and the pool. While it is simple breakfast, it is sufficient and tasty. My only regret is we are not staying longer to enjoy the other facilities such as the spa.

Paradise or heaven
We stayed as a family with teenagers for 3 nights in this newly set up hotel. The setting is very beautiful, it looks like you are surrounded by rainforest. All rooms and other amenities are built around the existing trees, so it all feels like a Swiss family Robinson treehouse ECO experience. Rooms are very nice and big. There are beautiful views from several spots to the river and waterfall.

Great value for money
This hotel represents great value for money. It is in a fabulous location, with all the major sights within strolling distance. The room design was contemporary, with the open shower in the middle of a jungle – unusual, but totally unique and to be experienced. The staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast gives lots of vegatarian options, with freshly made dishes made to order. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to fellow travelers.

Beautiful, quiet, and close to town center
A lovely spot on a hillside going down to the river. You are right behind the main street by the Hugo Blanco Museum but you don’t see or hear any other hotels. The restaurant and spa are right by the water and it is very peaceful. Rooms are spacious and brand new and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Highly recommended!

Peaceful, relaxing yet you can still walk into town
From the moment I first arrived at this resort I loved it! It was pouring with rain with thunder and lightening, but we were instantly given umbrellas and warmly welcomed by the staff. We were upgraded to a junior suite with a beautiful view over the valley and river. The room was spacious, comfortable with a semi-outdoor bathroom and nice balcony with a day bed. I spent a lot of time just sitting on the day bed reading looking out over the jungle – so fantastic.
The resort itself is on a hillside so there are steps. I’m very active so I enjoyed the walk down to the restaurant and pool area. It’s worth it so you can eat right next to the river. The pool was lovely – nice to cool off in with the humidity. The food was beautiful – homemade jams, lots of healthy local options. The staff were all wonderful, friendly and happy to assist whenever we needed anything. As for the free activities – I didn’t do anything but my husband did the yoga and really enjoyed it.
The best thing for me was the resort was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud but close enough to walk in. I did the walk about 4 times over the 3 days we were there and never tired of it (allow about 15 minutes – a bit tricky down the hill but once you’re on the main road an easy walk). You can’t hear any traffic noise at all from the rooms – just the sounds of the jungle. There are bugs though – turn off your bathroom light at night and keep the door shut and that usually keeps most of the away!
The only one little negative is a bar fridge or ice would’ve been nice to keep the beers cold.
We would stay again.
